Homa
Homa is the Persian name for the mythical griffin. Half lion, half eagle, the griffin is a talisman of protection and good fortune that was adopted by early Christians and spread through Europe. The original Achaemenid gold medallion dates to the 5th century B.C., and circular flowers are based on ancient Soghdian, Zoroastrian symbols that are embroidered on traditional Suzani cloths in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
