Shirin

The Christian Queen of the Sasanian King Khosrow, in the 7th century AD, was a remarkable figure. She fell in love with Farhad, a young sculptor and the love affair ended tragically.  The story of Shirin and Farhad is a legendary Persian love story, and one of the most celebrated stories in Persian literature. The  origins can be traced back to the poet Nizami.
