Turan
Turan is a historical region in Central Asia and the legendary kingdom in the Shahnameh (the Book of Kings, the long epic poem written by Ferdosi in the 10th century AD.) The Shahnameh tells of the mythical and historical past of the Persian Empire until the Muslim conquest in the 7th century. The horse design is inspired by the ancient wall frescoes of the same period found in Tajikistan, with added stylistic elements from a more recent past.
